Hand Surgery

Hand surgery is a field of medicine that deals with conditions of the hand, wrist and forearm. Hand surgeons are orthopedic, plastic or general surgeons who have additional training in surgery of the hand. The goal is to maintain the highest functionality of the hand and associated structures. Grand View Surgery Center at Harleysville is approved, but not limited to perform the following hand procedures: digit amputation, joint correction, fracture management, carpal tunnel reconstruction or release, ligament repairs, tendon repairs or replacements, trigger finger release, ganglion cyst removal and nailbed repair.

Colin Ackerman, MD

Dr. Colin Ackerman specializes in the treatment of a variety of orthopaedic conditions and performs several orthopaedic procedures including endoscopic carpal tunnel release, fracture care, hand, wrist and elbow surgery, and ligament and nerve repair. He is a graduate of Thomas Jefferson University.

Floyd J. Herman, MD

Dr. Floyd Herman serves as Medical Director here at Grand View Surgery Center at Harleysville. He specializes in both plastic surgery and hand surgery with focus in the areas of minimally invasive, cosmetic, micro vascular and trauma plastic surgeries. He obtained his MD from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. Dr. Herman’s accomplishments include Chief Resident of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Detroit Medical Center, best surgical resident and best surgical intern awards. He published for the Plastic Surgery and Reconstructive Surgery Journal as well as presenting on various topics related to plastic surgery.
